- Bring the energy! You are there to make FUN content for the couple, and the more comfortable they feel around you and your vibes, the more fun they will have with your content ideas and shooting.
- Be fun but be professional - “social media” and “content creator” kind of have a negative connotation, especially with the older crowd, but it’s the direction of media these days and we need to prove to them that it’s just as legit as other forms of media.
- Be courteous to the other vendors, but also stand your ground. Content Creation is a newer concept, and some older, traditional media folks aren’t so fond of it and will feel intimidated by it thinking it will affect their business. Make sure to introduce yourself to them, and let them know that your goal is to capture more “Behind the scenes” content. Inform them that their shots are a priority and if you are in their way to kindly let you know. But at the same time, everyone is trying to get content and it can be crowded at times with allll the cameras, so if they are pushy or rude towards you simply apologize but let them know you need to get the shot as well and are trying to do your job.
Pro tip: If you want to get on the other vendor's “good side” it helps to get some behind-the-scenes footage of them and then offer to send it to them! Everyone could use content for their personal business/company and it's a good opportunity to network and have people remember Toast as a nice collaborative company.
